History comes alive in London

Perhaps not at quite the same dizzying heights as Kuala Lumpur or New York, but just as iconic, Four Seasons Private Retreats London at Tower Bridge forms part of a truly historic skyline with immediate neighbours the Tower Bridge and the Tower of London, along with The Shard (Europe’s tallest tower). The Beaux Arts–style building that houses the residences at Four Seasons Hotel London at Tower Bridge was originally designed by renowned architect Sir Edwin Cooper and built between 1912–1922 to serve as the headquarters of the Port of London Authority. It celebrates its centennial in 2022, but the site itself has long been a centre of trade and commerce that dates back to the Middle Ages and the Roman settlement of Londinium. As a Grade II* listed building – a U.K. classification deeming a structure of “special interest, warranting every effort to preserve it” – there is plenty of history found within its walls. While the original glass dome of the central rotunda was destroyed during World War II, you can still sit beneath an impressive new version at the Rotunda Lounge to get a feel for what it must have been like.

Re-defining Boston’s Back Bay

Bangkok’s Chao Phraya River is one of the city’s most recognizable features, making the area along the waterfront one of the most sought-after places to live. This is, after all, one of the tallest buildings in the state of Tennessee, so it was always bound to draw attention.
