Understated Luxury in Naples, Florida

Fans of Naples, Florida, are lured by its miles-long white-sand beaches, world-class golf courses, and high-end boutiques. And now there’s another reason to put down stakes in the Gulf Coast destination: This year, The Residences at Naples Beach Club will make its grand debut, following last year’s opening of Naples Beach Club, a Four Seasons Resort.

The Residences are the result of a collaboration between Four Seasons and Discovery Land Company, a premier global developer known for crafting considered luxury communities. Located in historic Old Naples, close to lively 5th Avenue and 3rd Street, the multi-building beachfront property is expansive (spanning 50 hectares) but feels intimate and community-minded—like an idyllic coastal village—thanks to thoughtful design.

“The Residences at Naples Beach Club is setting a superior standard for luxury living and service, not just among Discovery’s diverse portfolio of international clubs, but within the Naples community. As we debut in the region, we’re excited to partner with Four Seasons to enhance both our legacies in offering high-end experiences and moments that last a lifetime,” said Mike Meldman, founder and chairman of Discovery Land Company.

The offerings consist of 58 Beachside Residences (distributed over three buildings) and 95 Golfside Residences (spread over five buildings). The latter units enjoy sweeping views of The Gardens, a new 18-hole golf course designed by world-renowned golf course architect Tom Fazio. Dense with beautiful lakes, native palms and tropical flora, the course channels a lush Old Florida landscape. Residents will delight in the precision hitting bays, comfort stations with grab-and-go fare, and the Range House, with its wraparound porch, bar and lounge, logo shop, and fire-pit area.

There will be no shortage of perks and experiences for non-golfers as well. All Residents have access to the beachfront Residents’ Beach Club (with indoor-outdoor dining, member lounge, spa, and fitness center) and Residents’ Beach House (featuring adult and family pools, a beachside concierge, and coastal cuisine offerings). And, of course, Residents will be able to avail themselves of the full spread of amenities at the Resort itself, among them six tennis courts; a standalone two-story, 2,800-square-metre spa that houses treatment rooms as well as Finnish saunas, vitality pools, cold plunge zones, experiential showers, and a rooftop pool; and five restaurants, including The Merchant Room (helmed by two-time James Beard Award-winner Gavin Kaysen), HB’s (for fresh regional seafood), and Sunset Bar (with a Latin-inspired cocktail and bites menu). The latter two are the only places to offer beachfront dining in all of Old Naples.

And then there is the Market Square, a cluster of retail, dining, and entertainment options designed to be a buzzy social hub for guests, Residents, and locals alike. Naples Trading Company, a coffee shop with sundries, beer and wine, and gifts, recently opened its doors at The Square. Currently under development are The Wager, a family-friendly sports gastro-pub (complete with game room and four bowling lanes), and a state-of-the-art movie theatre that will show first-run movies.

Four Seasons Private Residences Caye Chapel, Belize: Four Seasons’ first and only private island destination in the Western Hemisphere, this new property, just 30 minutes by boat or 10 minutes by air from Belize City, will offer 100 Resort guest rooms and suites (including over-water bungalows), and 90 Private Residences. The long, narrow island is ringed by six miles of white sand and adjacent to the UNESCO World Heritage Site-designated Belize Barrier Reef System, the largest barrier reef in the Northern Hemisphere. Destination highlight: Aside from plentiful snorkeling and scuba diving opportunities, guests and Residents will also be able to enjoy an 18-hole golf course designed by golf legends Greg Norman and Lorena Ochoa. Opens in 2027.

Four Seasons Private Residences The Ocean Club, Bahamas: The Ocean Club, A Four Seasons Resort, Bahamas has been luring visitors to Paradise Island for more than six decades. And now, fans will be able to own a piece of this legendary destination, the site of not one, but two James Bond films. You’ll have your pick of 60 modern units, each with a spacious terrace and Bahamian-chic style to spare, spread over four beachfront buildings that sit next to the iconic Resort. Residents will have at their disposal the Resort’s amenities, including tennis courts, a golf course, and Versailles-inspired gardens, as well as a Residents-only restaurant, a lounge, an adult pool, and a fitness center, all with ocean views. The Park Gstaad, A Four Seasons Residence: The iconic Park Gstaad in the scenic Bernese Alps has been a favorite haunt of discerning travellers seeking slopes and sophistication for more than a century—and this year Four Seasons will be shepherding it into a new era. Reimagined by French architect Joseph Dirand, who has worked with fashion giants Givenchy and Rick Owens, The Park Gstaad, A Four Seasons Hotel and Residence will have 75 redesigned rooms and suites, as well as a limited collection of six impeccably appointed penthouse Private Residences. Destination highlight: Guests and Residents will have a plethora of dining options—all without stepping off the property—including four fine dining restaurants, two lounges, and a summer garden restaurant. Opens 2026. 

Four Seasons Private Residences Telluride: Peak luxury is coming to the storied world-class ski mecca in the form of an extraordinary new development: Four Seasons Resort and Residences Telluride. Tucked amid Colorado’s breathtaking San Juan peaks, the stunning modernist building is designed by award-winning architecture firm Olson Kundig and will include 26 Private Residences, 43 Hotel Residences, and 52 Hotel keys. A pair of restaurants, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a spa with a sauna and a cold plunge, an outdoor hot tub, and an indoor lap pool round out the amenities. Four Seasons Private Residences Deer Valley: There’s no shortage of high-end accommodations in Deer Valley, Utah, but with the introduction of the Four Seasons Resort and Residences Deer Valley, the luxury ski destination will reach a new level of elevated hospitality. Situated in the heart of East Village, at the base of Deer Valley’s newest slopes (an expansion that adds more than 1,497 hectares of ski-able terrain), the development is modeled after traditional Alpine chalets and will boast 134 guest rooms and 123 Private Residences, all with epic mountain views. Destination highlight: In addition to a friction-less ski experience (thanks to ski in/ski out access, a ski valet, ski lockers, and other exclusive perks), the development will have a host of amenities for non-skiers and off-season guests and Residents, including a basketball/squash court, a golf swing suite, and three pools. Opens in 2028.

Design Meets Innovation in Bahrain Bay

How do you create a space that feels like home but still has an undeniable sense of place? To start, you marry local architecture and heritage with beautiful modern interiors, says Nicolas Roux, founder of celebrated London design firm Rive Gauche. Here, Roux shares how he and his team created a design narrative at Four Seasons Private Residences Bahrain Bay that tells a story about both local culture and contemporary living.

Q: Craftmanship, best-in-class materials and luxurious finishes are hallmarks of your projects. How did you use them here to create a sense of place?

A: The design truly pays homage to the exquisite craftsmanship that you find in the traditional Bahraini architecture. The ceiling, for example, was crafted from fibre plaster using a century-old technique to create very intricate details and motifs. And we brought a focus to the amazing local pearl resources famed across Bahrain by using mother-of-pearl inlay throughout the design in a variety of ways. We also used a lot of beautiful marble across the floors, walls and architraves, and a Guatemala green verde stone to reference the deeper colours from the spice markets.

Q: Bahrain has such a rich architectural heritage. How did you incorporate elements of that into the design?

A: We brought the region’s existing architectural motifs into the interior details very subtly. For instance, if you come into the main entrance and look up at the ceiling, you’ll see a bespoke cornice which we reinterpreted with more traditional detailing. We also focused heavily on volume and space. Over-scaled doors and large, thick architraves, just like the traditional palaces in Bahrain and across the Middle East, remind residents where they are at every turn. Those references create another dimension to the interior and bring depth and meaning.

Q: How did the landscape influence the interiors?

A: The desert and milky sky of the region informed the neutral and warm base palette, which we then combined with the deep, rich blue of the sea and the red, ochre and green colours of spices from the market.

Q: This property has an oasis-like setting right on the water. How did you bring the outdoors into the design?

A: The Residences are surrounded by water, and you can arrive by boat to the jetty and enter through the lavish landscape. When we looked at the design and arrival experience of the residents, we wanted huge double-height windows across the breadth of the property so we could bring the outside in and give the full effect of being connected with nature. We wanted to incorporate a very green landscape providing a luxurious background for the residences, which would feel safe, restorative and connect back to nature.

Q: What were some considerations when designing the public spaces?

A: All of the common areas, which are solely dedicated to the residents, become almost an extension of their private residence. Downstairs in the residents’ public space, you have various areas: a multifunctional room for events, a cinema for parties, a lobby room for meetings, and a gym with double-height windows offering views out onto a green landscape. There’s a lot of flexibility as to how residents can use the spaces. It’s almost a combination of family home and a five-star hotel.

Q: You often speak about the importance of creating emotion in a residence. Can you give an example or two of how you did that at Four Seasons?

A: It’s important that owners feel relaxed, that this is a space where they can feel at home. We created a big, open living area, which is not typical of homes in the Middle East. The design itself is very calm and soft, and we used bright pops of colour to evoke happiness. Overall, it’s a calming, grand, luxurious space. As you walk through into the residence, the tones become warmer. We also used a lot of natural handmade plaster with a number of layers, texture and patterns, so as you walk through and get close to the walls and touch the furniture, those textures create an experience and an emotion.
